BRAKES AVOID ACCIDENTS

ABOUT US

BRAKES AVOID ACCIDENTS is committed to serving the needs of all communities to provide for a safer environment for everyone - motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders and other motor powered enthusiasts - who share our busy roads.  Our primary objective is to prevent unnecessary accidents, injuries and deaths and at the same time we hope to build awareness that may highlight the quality of life issues in our local communities - increased traffic patterns, higher population density due to overdevelopment all of which are derivatives of poor city planning by local municipalities and bureaucrats.

Our Story

Originally native New Yorkers transplanted in the suburbs of New Jersey.  Over the last 10 years we have watched our small town with a vibrant Main Street become urbanized without sufficient city master planning that has directly changed the character of the community and increased traffic largely by motorists passing through town to get to major roadways. We live now by the town's high school and have requested many times to have some safety measures at the corner cross street to the school. Unfortunately, we get "we are waiting for a grant" or "we will look into it", but not very much action or attention to an area that is frequently walked to get to the high school. During the day we have a cross guard who is also concerned about his own safety given the speed of motorists who may be distracted and have low visibility because there is a small bridge. Anyway, we felt compelled to do something about it ourselves when local government fails. We do not want to learn about an accident. We know there are other residents who share similar concerns in our local community and beyond.  We want to share our passion beyond our town.  Main Street America must be facing similar issues because of the bureaucratic red tape.
